Fasting can get your body cleaned of all the toxins like organic waste matter etc. To most people, it seems logical that fasting, or not eating, helps the body to rid itself of harmful substances, including the toxins you mention. People fast in various ways and for various reasons: fasts can be limited to only juice, water, or herbal tea. But fasting must always be accompanied with caution and should not be done arbitrarily.

Healthy eating pyramid - The base of the pyramid includes all plant foods: vegetables, fruits, nuts, dried peas, beans and lentils, breads and cereals (preferably wholegrain). They contain many different nutrients and should make up most of the food that we eat ~ they are called the eat most foods. Fish, lean meat, eggs, chicken (without skin), stand in the middle of the pyramid along with milk, milk products, cheese and yoghurt. At the top of pyramid we have small amounts of fats, oils and sugar etc.

Overeating is a long term failure. Those who overeat don’t find problems at first but their problem starts when the negative effects begin compounding over a period of time.

We should limit fatty or sweet foods to only 7 percent of the plate and concentrate on balanced diet. Although sugar is thought to be bad, we still need it as an immediate source of energy. Just remember to keep it in moderation.

Slow weight loss is best. Reduce your daily calorie level only a little, no more than 20%. The problem with low-fat diets is that people are tempted to eat unlimited low-fat diets.
